About the client

Inter Cars is the largest distributor of automotive parts in Central and Eastern Europe, operating across multiple European markets. For years, the company has invested in digital technologies, treating them as a key enabler of business growth and employee productivity.

With the rapid development of AI-powered tools, the company entered the next stage of its digital transformation. However, the objective was not simply to provide employees with access to Microsoft Copilot. From the very beginning, Inter Cars assumed that the project’s success would depend primarily on whether employees would actually start using AI in their everyday work.

Implementing the tool alone is not enough

In many organizations, AI initiatives begin with purchasing licenses and delivering training sessions. Inter Cars took a different approach.

The company uses both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, while its users represent a wide range of roles and experience levels. From the very beginning of the project, it was clear that providing technical knowledge alone would not be enough.

The biggest challenge was to build awareness, demonstrate the real business value of AI, and create the conditions that would encourage employees to use the new tools on a regular basis.

An adoption program instead of a series of training sessions

Together with the Inter Cars Digital Experience team, we designed an adoption program built around two parallel workstreams.

The first was addressed to the entire organization and focused on building knowledge and awareness of Microsoft Copilot’s capabilities.

The second was designed for the most engaged users and future AI Champions, who would support competency development and promote best practices within their teams.

This approach combined education with community building while ensuring that the organization would have internal advocates who continued to support AI adoption even after the program had been completed.

Learning based on everyday work

One of the key assumptions of the project was to move away from simply presenting Microsoft Copilot features.

Every training session addressed real business challenges faced by employees and demonstrated practical AI use cases that could be applied immediately in their daily work.

The program included, among others:

  • Microsoft Copilot Chat,
  • effective prompting,
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot in Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint,
  • data analysis,
  • building custom AI agents,
  • Copilot Studio,
  • VIP sessions for key users,
  • presentations of the latest platform capabilities.

Training sessions were delivered in both Polish and English, allowing participants from different countries to develop their skills according to the same standard.

Communication that keeps the momentum going

The project did not end with the training sessions. In parallel, communication activities included newsletters, knowledge base articles, webinars, expert events, quests, and initiatives dedicated to the AI Champions community.

As a result, Microsoft Copilot remained a visible part of the organization’s day-to-day communication, while users regularly received new inspiration and practical ideas for applying AI in their work.

A partnership between three teams

The project was delivered through close collaboration between three partners: Inter Cars, Microsoft, and IT-Dev.

Regular status meetings, fast decision-making, and continuous knowledge sharing made it possible to develop the program in line with the organization’s evolving needs and respond quickly to new challenges.

„Many companies talk about AI. With IT-Dev’s support, we successfully implemented an AI adoption program that turned Microsoft Copilot into a real productivity tool for our employees. We truly appreciate the team’s professionalism, the high quality of the training, and their practical approach, which translated AI’s potential into tangible business value.”

Building the foundation for long-term AI adoption

The most important outcome of the project was that the organization established a community of AI Champions, developed proven Microsoft Copilot use cases, and created a competency development model that can continue to evolve throughout future stages of its AI transformation.

As a result, Microsoft Copilot is no longer perceived as just another feature within Microsoft 365. It has become a practical tool that supports employees in their everyday work and helps solve real business challenges.

AI adoption is a process, not a project

The program delivered at Inter Cars demonstrates that the success of an AI implementation depends on much more than technology alone.

The key factor is how an organization prepares its people for change, continuously develops their skills, and keeps them engaged long after the first training sessions have been completed.

That is why successful Microsoft Copilot adoption does not end when licenses are activated. It is a long-term process of building new ways of working, developing a strong user community, and creating an organizational culture in which artificial intelligence becomes a natural part of everyday work.
